A huge haul of Festival litter cleared by Globe volunteers from the streets of Caversham and riverside this afternoon, not so many vodka bottles today but numerous festival trolleys, soggy footwear and abandoned camping gear.

Caversham GLOBE refurbishes planter box in Caversham Centre! One of the 20 planter boxes in centre of Caversham, all of which are looked after by GLOBE volunteers, has been completely rebuilt with new timber. Thanks to all of the volunteers who devoted several hours yesterday evening to the task and to the generous supporter who funded the project.

Excellent news today that the planning inspector has rejected a developer's appeal to build 70 homes on part of the former Reading Golf course just over the county boundary in Oxfordshire - unspoilt Chiltern countryside bordering ancient woodland. Thanks to CADRA (Caversham & District Residents Association) and Kidmore End Parish Council who put so much effort into the appeal.
