2017 Spring RESCUE clean-up event on 12th March

The Spring RESCUE (Rivers and Environmental Spaces Clean Up Event) across the Reading Borough is one week later than the “Keep Britain Tidy” clean up now taking place. Could you help keep Caversham clean by joining other GLOBE activists for up to 2 hours on Sunday 12 March from 11 am?
We will meet by the BT Exchange Church Street Caversham and clean nearby streets and open areas. It’s important that you let GLOBE know by email if you can come along on Sunday 12 March (please also give a contact phone number), so that we can obtain enough litter pickers, gloves and hi-viz vests or let you know if bad weather may disrupt our arrangements. Please email info@cavershamglobe.org.uk as soon as you can and no later than Wednesday 8 March. In case you need it, 07768 958407 to contact Richard Denney. If you know of others who may help, please spread the word. Thank you
There are other litter hots spots in Caversham and Emmer Green for which we are seeking volunteers to help clean up: for example, Mill Green/Deans Farm public land, the alley (footpath 41) behind Chiltern Road, the Stuart Close/Surley Row/Grove Hill footpaths: also the green path from the Emmer Green pond that goes behind Knights Way and Buckingham Drive to Marshlands Square where there is bad fly-tipping in at least 5 places. You may also know of other areas. We can make separate arrangements for these.
